Get to Know Michael Grenier

Michael Grenier is a dedicated community leader with a strong background in business and development. Elected to the TNRD Board and Thompson Regional Health District in 2022, he earned his Honours Business Administration degree from the prestigious Ivey Business School at Western University. With extensive experience in project management, finance, and real estate development, Michael has a proven track record in the private sector. 

Since 1996, Michael has called rural Cherry Creek home. As the founder of Tobiano, Tobiano Golf Course, and Kamloops Lake Marina, he has significantly contributed to the local economy. His commitment to the community is further demonstrated through his previous service on successful boards, including the TNRD Film Commission, Kamloops Golf Marketing Association, and Kamloops Airport Advisory Board. Additionally, he was the former Co-Chair of the Friends of the Secwepemc Cultural and Education Society. 

Michael’s contributions have not gone unnoticed. He has been recognized by the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce for his impactful tourism and economic development initiatives in the region. 

Michael is a family man, married to Doreen and a proud father/stepdad to five adult children. He enjoys skiing at Sun Peaks, boating on Kamloops Lake, and alfalfa farming in Cherry Creek. 

As the BC United candidate for Cariboo-Chilcotin, Michael is committed to enhancing the rural, urban, and recreational lifestyle experiences for all residents and visitors. His vision includes improving connectivity – including telecommunications and roads – in rural and recreational areas; providing land and resource certainty to attract investment and grow businesses; stimulating the private sector and cutting red tape to support first-time homebuyers and seniors; identifying efficiencies to improve health care and service delivery; enhancing local amenities; and showcasing the region’s scenic natural environment, ensuring a high quality of life for everyone in the community.
