Get to Know Meagan Brame

Meagan Brame, a dedicated community advocate and former municipal council member, boasts a rich legacy in public service spanning 14 years in Esquimalt. As a seasoned Early Childhood Educator and successful business owner, Meagan combines her passion for community with a hands-on, solution-focused approach. During a pivotal moment when the beloved Archie Browning Sports Centre faced demolition, Meagan’s collaborative spirit shone as she played a crucial role in rallying a grassroots movement to preserve the arena.

This triumph fueled Meagan’s commitment to her community, leading her to run for council, where she served four terms, accumulating a wealth of experience in navigating the intricacies of local governance. Her ability to bring people together, even amidst disagreements, accentuates her effectiveness as a collaborator and problem solver.

For over 35 years, Meagan has championed the cause of children and families, advocating for inclusive childcare options and supporting children with diverse needs. Recognizing childcare as a cornerstone of society, she emphasizes fair wages and training for providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs. As an entrepreneur herself, Meagan seeks to invigorate local economies by fostering an environment that nurtures small businesses.

Outside of her professional career, Meagan and her husband – of 31 years – Steve have called Esquimalt home for 30 years. They have two grown sons and two beautiful grandchildren.

“I’m putting my name forward to represent the residents of Esquimalt-Colwood because I’ve seen firsthand how so many people in our community are struggling to make ends meet right now. Life is more unaffordable than ever after nearly seven years of the NDP failing to make a difference in our region. We need an MLA who will advocate for the issues that matter most to people, and my experience on Esquimalt Council, as well as running a child care facility and serving on the Esquimalt Chamber of Commerce will help me get the big things done for our community.”
— Meagan Brame, BC United Candidate for Esquimalt – Colwood

“I am thrilled to have Meagan Brame join Team BC United. Her passion, dedication, and experience will strengthen our ability to deliver real results on the most pressing issues in the community such as the health care crisis, skyrocketing cost-of-living, and public safety concerns. Together, we will fix British Columbia.”
— Kevin Falcon, Leader of BC United
