Get to Know Keenan Adams

Since 2010, Keenan Adams has called Port Coquitlam home, sharing his life with his fiancée Florence, a first-generation immigrant. Together, they have found a sense of pride and belonging within the Port Coquitlam community.

Keenan graduated from the BCIT Railway Conductor program in 2010. His dedication and hard work led him to the local railroad yard, where he began as a brakeman and steadily climbed the ranks, achieving the prestigious position of locomotive engineer. Not only did Keenan excel in his role, but he also took on the crucial responsibility of training new engineers, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of locomotives and trains.

It was against the breathtaking backdrop of the Canadian Rockies that Keenan’s interest in politics began. This passion drove him to actively participate in union roles, pursue a Public Relations diploma, and volunteer at the Elk Valley Socio-Community and Economic Effects Advisory Committee, showcasing his commitment to the well-being of his community.

More recently, Keenan has become an integral part of Port Coquitlam’s Adopt-A-Spot program, demonstrating his hands-on approach to community involvement. Through this initiative, he actively contributes to the betterment of our local environment, reflecting his belief that politics should encapsulate the ideals of community, connection, and working together.

For Keenan, politics is not just a career choice; it’s a platform to realize his goals of fostering unity. Whether navigating the challenges of the railroad, working within the union, or contributing to the heartbeat of Port Coquitlam, Keenan Adams consistently embodies the values of community, hard work, and connection.

“Port Coquitlam is not just where I live; it’s my home. From my work on the railroad to my involvement in community initiatives like the Adopt-A-Spot program, I’ve always believed in the power of connection and hard work to bring positive change to our city. I’m determined to fix our crumbling healthcare system, restore safety to our streets, address the cost-of-living crisis, and ensure affordable housing is available for young people and families across Port Coquitlam, and all of British Columbia.”

As a proud Teamsters union member, I am confident that he will be a powerful advocate for fixing the critical issues being faced by his community, and the province, under the current government.”
