Get to Know Japreet Lehal

Japreet Lehal was born and raised in Surrey, and holds a Juris Doctor (JD) from Thompson Rivers University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with distinction from Simon Fraser University.

He currently works as a lawyer in a downtown law firm, providing legal advice on matters related to all major areas of law. His work has allowed him to resolve complex legal matters facing many British Columbians. Japreet is also an experienced writer, and has written columns in newspapers for over five years.

Japreet has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships related to both his volunteer and academic works, including the University of Toronto National Book Award, Governor General of Canada’s Academic Medal, and the Surrey Board of Trade’s Top 25 under 25 award.

Japreet is running to be Surrey-Newton’s next MLA with a firm commitment to the pressing issues facing his community. From issues related to health care, a strong economy, crime and public safety and rising cost-of-living crisis – Japreet is committed to proposing real solutions with positive outcomes for the people of Surrey and British Columbia.
