Get to Know Brandon Fonseca

Brandon Fonseca has been a lifelong resident of Coquitlam, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science (MSc) degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Simon Fraser University. Brandon’s research encompasses the intersection of immunology and biophysics, specifically he is exploring how macrophages perceive the rigidity of their external environment, with potential implications for advancements in both immunology and cancer research.

Beyond academia, Brandon has actively engaged in politics since he was 18. He has contributed to multiple federal Conservative election campaigns and was a Conservative Party of BC candidate in the 2020 provincial election. Following the election, Brandon was a member of the BC Conservative Party from 2021 to 2022. However, in 2023, Brandon tore up his Conservative Party of BC membership to BC United under the leadership of Kevin Falcon because he feels BC United is a big tent party best positioned to defeat the NDP and bring sound fiscal management back to British Columbia.

In seeking election, Brandon pledges to leverage his extensive background in biomedical research and community advocacy. He aims to elevate discussions on health care, medical research, and immunology, while also addressing local concerns in Coquitlam-Maillardville. His platform includes advocating for lower gas and grocery prices, tackling the rising street crime, and fixing B.C.’s crumbling health-care system.

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to represent BC United in Coquitlam-Maillardville and be the strong advocate our community needs to address the failing policies of the NDP. I know there is only one credible option to defeat the NDP and fix British Columbia, and that option is a BC United government led by Kevin Falcon.”
—Brandon Fonseca, BC United Candidate for Coquitlam-Maillardville

“BC United continues to attract strong candidates who believe in the values of free enterprise, small government and caring for our communities – while prioritizing real policy solutions over slogans. With our proven track record and dedication to putting people first, BC United is the only opposition party capable of defeating the NDP and delivering the leadership that British Columbians deserve.”
—Kevin Falcon, Leader of BC United
