Bill Coltart is a lifelong resident of the Comox Valley and has served British Columbians for 30 years as a Paramedic with the British Columbia Ambulance Service both in the Comox Valley as well as in Metro Vancouver.

Bill is also an entrepreneur – having started his first business at the age of 21 – Bill and his wife Sharon continue to operate successful small businesses serving the tourism, marine and real estate sectors.

In 2004, he co-founded the Canadian Medical Assistance Teams, an international non-government charity providing crisis response to vulnerable populations. Bill was deployed to Indonesia after the 2004 Tsunami and twice to Haiti following the catastrophic earthquake in 2010. Through his effective leadership style, the organization formed valuable relationships with the United Nations, Canadian Forces, Canadian International Development Agency and numerous embassies worldwide.

Bill currently sits on the board of directors for the Comox Business Improvement Association, the Connectability Resources Society and the Campbell River Association of Tour Operators – where he helped secure $2 million in community funding to cleanup 700 kilometers of local shorelines.

Bill’s journey into politics began after a chance meeting with BC United Leader Kevin Falcon, during which he realized that BC United offers realistic solutions to the complex issues facing the province. He looks forward to serving the residents of Courtenay-Comox with his characteristic dedication, drive and tenacity.
