Leader Kevin Falcon continues to build a strong, united, election-ready team in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Today, BC United Leader Kevin Falcon proudly announced two exceptional candidates, Markus Delves and Karen Long as BC United candidates for Abbotsford South and Langley-Abbotsford. These accomplished individuals bring diverse backgrounds, dedicated service, and a vision for positive change to their respective communities.

BC United Leader Kevin Falcon expressed his excitement, stating, “Markus Delves and Karen Long embody the values and commitment that BC United stands for. Their leadership in both business and community align perfectly with our party’s vision for a better British Columbia. I know that united, our team can fix the critical issues facing everyday British Columbians under this current NDP government such as the rising cost of living, explosion of crime, a crumbling health care system, and skyrocketing housing prices.”

Right across the province, BC United has been experiencing significant crowds and generating substantial interest in candidate nominations as the party continues to roll out the only team that can defeat the NDP and fix the critical issues British Columbians are facing.

Background:

Markus Delves (Abbotsford South)

Markus Delves is a chartered professional accountant and retired naval officer. Currently involved in his family’s business, Markus is an active community volunteer serving on the boards of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice and the Fraser Valley Indo-Canadian Business Association. With a focus on affordability, healthcare improvement, and economic strength, Markus is ready to champion the interests of Abbotsford South. He shared, “I am honoured to stand as a BC United candidate for Abbotsford South. I know that only a government under the leadership of Kevin Falcon can address critical healthcare challenges, the cost-of-living crisis, lack of affordable housing, and unsafe streets in Abbotsford South and across the province.”

Karen Long (Langley-Abbotsford)

Karen Long, a dedicated member of the Langley community since 1980, is the BC United candidate for Langley-Abbotsford. With a background in accounting, Karen’s journey led her to establish a successful office supply store in Aldergrove. Currently directing efforts in the Food Recovery program at Langley Meals on Wheels Society, Karen exemplifies her dedication to addressing crucial societal issues such as food security and affordability. Karen expressed, “I am thrilled to represent Langley-Abbotsford as a BC United candidate. As a mother and a grandmother, I’m committed to delivering real results and building a brighter future for this generation, and my grandchildren’s generation. I know that with BC United, we can build a better future for all of British Columbia.”
