February 12, 2024

VANCOUVER, B.C. – BC United proudly announces Lehann Wallace as its candidate for Ladysmith-Oceanside and Stephen Johnston as its candidate for West Kelowna-Peachland in the upcoming provincial election. With a shared commitment to tackling affordability, health care, and the public safety crisis, Wallace and Johnston bring invaluable experience and passion to the BC United team.

Lehann Wallace, a twice-elected Area Director for the Regional District of Nanaimo, has been a tireless advocate for the Oceanside region, championing initiatives to improve health care, infrastructure, and environmental stewardship. Her accomplishments as a businesswoman include an extensive background in marketing and project management – making her an ideal candidate to represent the people of Ladysmith-Oceanside.

Stephen Johnston, 38, a dedicated City Councillor in West Kelowna and an entrepreneur, brings a wealth of experience to the West Kelowna-Peachland riding. With a strong background in business and a life time resident of West Kelowna, Johnston is well known for delivering results to his constituents.

“Ladysmith-Oceanside deserves a strong advocate in government who will achieve actual results with their hard-earned tax dollars. With skyrocketing costs, failure to deliver health care results, and reckless implementation of zoning density without local government consultation – it’s time for change,” said Wallace. “BC United is the only credible coalition alternative that can beat the NDP with a real plan to fix the issues that matter most to the communities of Ladysmith-Oceanside.”

Johnston echoed Wallace’s sentiments, stating, “I’m excited to join Kevin Falcon and the BC United team in continuing the exceptional representation that BC United MLA Ben Stewart has provided for 14 years. Our communities deserve strong representation and I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure my community and future generations have the best access to things like housing, health care, education, and public safety. I look forward to working with Kevin Falcon and the BC United team to help shape a prosperous future for our province.”

BC United Leader Kevin Falcon expressed his confidence in Wallace and Johnston’s candidacies, stating, “Lehann Wallace and Stephen Johnston are young community leaders who represent exactly the kind of highly qualified candidates that are choosing to run with BC United. Their dedication to serving their communities and their proven track records of success make them invaluable additions to our team. I look forward to working alongside Lehann and Stephen to fix the real challenges like health care, affordability, and public safety for all British Columbians.”

As BC United continues to prepare for the upcoming election, the party continues to attract high calibre candidates that are United by the commitment to build a better future for the next generation.
